What are some of the student issues that you would like to bring to the Board table?
Why is health and wellness the area you are most passionate about?
I think when we say 'health,' we often confuse it with physical health; however, the most important thing is our mental health because mental health not only affects our physical health but also our learning abilities and decision-making. In a college environment, with due dates and deadlines—and, in my case, as an international student, a part-time job—managing everything becomes really difficult, and I end up feeling exhausted while multitasking. As an international student, I want to help other students by guiding them on the importance of health and wellness, as this should be our first priority. As we sometimes feel lonely—and even domestic students sometimes just need someone by their side to help them—I want to encourage them to focus more on their health and wellness, because in a study environment, we tend to overlook it and focus on other things. To support this, I will promote the Sheridan Student Wellness Centre, which offers counselling and medical services, and the Sheridan Athletics facilities to help students manage stress through physical activity and community engagement. I am dedicated to advocating for more accessible wellness workshops and peer-to-peer support groups that address the unique pressures of student life, ensuring that every individual has the tools they need to flourish both personally and professionally during their time at college. In conclusion, my journey from India to Sheridan has given me the determination and empathy required to lead with purpose. I am committed to being a transparent and accountable Student Director who listens to the student body's concerns and takes real action. Whether it is through improving time-management resources or fostering a more connected campus culture, my ultimate goal is to ensure that every student at Sheridan feels supported, healthy, and empowered to reach their full potential. By viewing wellness through a lens of preventive care rather than just a reaction to stress, we can ensure every student remains resilient throughout the semester.
“I want to make a mark on campus by being relatable”

My initial introduction to the #SheridanLife occurred during Orientation, a pivotal moment where the overwhelming nature of a new country was replaced by a sense of belonging. Meeting leaders like Harjeet Sanghera and the various Student Directors made the transition seamless. Furthermore, the guidance I received from Peer Mentors like Aryan and Christian showed me the true value of a support system. My involvement is currently centred on active observation and community integration. By immersing myself in the classroom and understanding our instructors' pedagogical approaches, I have gained a clear picture of the academic hurdles students face. To further my commitment, I have applied for the Co-Curricular Recognition (CCR) program. This step is vital because it allows me to document my volunteer efforts and demonstrate my dedication to Student Engagement beyond the classroom.

As a reminder, you will need to vote for campus specific representatives, but all Board discussions are passed when every Board member is involved. Take look at all of your campus reps, stop by their campaign booths and make an informed decision on March 16 - March 20.
