My foundation as a leader is built on the kindness and support I’ve been surrounded by since my childhood. Those people made such a life-changing impact on me that they are the reason I want to lead today. I am driven to pay that investment forward transforming the kindness I received into a leadership style that focuses on mentorship, mutual respect, and making a real, positive difference in the lives of others.

What are some of the student issues that you would like to bring to the Board table?
WHY IS health and wellness THE AREA YOU ARE MOST PASSIONATE ABOUT?
Advocating for Health and Wellness is my top priority because a student’s academic success is only as strong as their mental and emotional foundation. In my daily role as a Peer Mentor at HMC, I am on the front lines of the student experience. Through hundreds of hallway conversations, I have seen firsthand that many academic struggles stem from unaddressed wellness challenges, whether burnout, isolation, or the high-pressure transition to college life.
For me, wellness is not just a buzzword but a fundamental right. As a mature student who has navigated post-secondary transitions before, I understand how easily health can be put behind as not important when juggling deadlines and personal responsibilities. I am enthusiastic about breaking the stigma surrounding mental health by making "asking for help" feel like a natural part of the Sheridan journey. I often meet students who are hesitant to seek support, and I take pride in being the bridge that connects them to vital resources like Empower Me.
I want to bring this issue to the Board table to ensure our services are initiative-taking rather than just reactive. My goal is to advocate for wellness initiatives that are culturally sensitive and accessible to our diverse student body, who face unique stressors such as homesickness and cultural adjustment. By prioritizing health and wellness, we are not just helping students pass their classes, but we are building a resilient community where everyone feels supported, valued, and empowered to succeed. I want to organize more events related to Health and Wellness awareness. Greater awareness and more Health and Wellness-related events will help students lead a balanced student life at Sheridan.
I am also driven by the idea of "community care," where students look out for one another. Wellness is not just about professional services, but it is also about building a campus culture where peers are equipped to support each other. I want to advocate for more peer-led wellness workshops where students can share coping strategies for stress and time management. This creates a stronger, more connected community that can thrive even during the most demanding academic terms. Beyond immediate support, I believe that prioritizing wellness is essential for student retention and long-term graduation success. By fostering a proactive environment, we can ensure that every student has the tools to manage their journey with confidence and a healthy work-study-life balance.

As an Honours Bachelor of Interior Design student, my passion for the Sheridan community comes from a simple belief: no student should have to navigate their journey alone! As a Peer Mentor at HMC, I serve as a friendly and approachable presence, proactively connecting with students to make asking for help feel comfortable and natural. Whether guiding someone toward wellness services or listening to a stressed peer, I focus on making each interaction supportive and meaningful.
My involvement also includes the Student Advisory Board (SELF Committee) at Sheridan EDGE, where I contribute to inclusive initiatives. I also volunteer at events like International Education Week. Having previously navigated post-secondary life, I understand the hurdles students face during their transition. I value creating moments where peers feel confident, informed, and connected. For me, being part of Sheridan means helping build a community where every student feels welcomed, supported, and truly belongs.

As a reminder, you will need to vote for campus specific representatives, but all Board discussions are passed when every Board member is involved. Take look at all of your campus reps, stop by their campaign booths and make an informed decision on March 16 - March 20.
